Transfer Watch: Summer 2012

It’s been pretty slow going on the national team front since the culmination of the Arab Nations Cup which can only mean one thing- the silly season is here! Below is a synopsis of all the transfer action and rumors.

WBPL

Abdelhamid Abuhabib has swapped Balata for Shabab Al-Khaleel also joining him at the Bianconeri is Atef Abu Bilal who moved from rivals Shabab Al-Dhahrieh. These moves seem to be the final piece of the puzzle for the Hebron-based side that struggled with a lack of creativity in midfield last season.

Newly promoted Ahli Al-Khaleel have signed American-born Ali Elkadi. The left back was previously in Shabab Dubai’s reserve squad. Elkadi earned his first call-up to the national team in February playing the final minutes of a 3-0 loss to the UAE. Ahli Al-Khaleel have also been rumored to be after the services of Olympic teamer Hicham Ali and former Shabab Al-Khaleel striker Mohammed Shatrit.

The defending champions Hilal Al-Quds have managed to convince their talisman Murad Alyan to stay after publicly stating his desire to leave the club. Elder statesman Fadi Lafi however has chosen to depart joining Jordanian side Al-Jazira. At the time of writing it seems that Hilal could be in the market for a goalkeeper with Abdullah Saidawi close to agreeing terms with Al-Am’ary. It’s not all doom and gloom though for the club from the capital: Roberto Kettlun has joined up after a five year stint in Italy’s lower leagues. Ahmed Abu Atyia has joined for Jordan’s Al-Jazira whilst Abdesallam Al-Swerki and Haitham Dheeb have agreed to contract extensions.

Shabab Al-Dhahrieh have looked for talent on the other side of the green line to reinforce their squad. Former Ahly Umm El-Fahm captain, Kamel Jebareen, has been brought up to shore up the defence after spending last season with Jabal Al-Mukaber (14 appearances, 3 goals). Also joining up are attacking mid Amir Alafeesh and Hapoel Shefa ‘Amr duo Khaled Me’ary (a midfielder known for his passing and long distance shooting) and striker Noor Abu Jaleel.

Al-Am’ary have added Al-Bireh striker Jamal Allan but have lost the services of wingback Ahmed Harbi to Maccabi Umm El-Fahm. A host of clubs in Egypt and Jordan are said to be interested in Ismail Amour although the team is reluctant to let him go before the culmination of the AFC President’s Cup.

In other news: Mohammed Abdel Jawad is back at Al-Bireh, Arafat Sabeeh & Said Al-Sobakhi will look to fill in for Ashraf Nu’man absence at Tarji Wadi Al-Nes.

JORDAN

Ashraf Nu’man has signed a 1-year loan deal with Al-Faisaly. He is set to make $50,000 next year but in even more exciting news he might recreated his national team partnership with Ismail Amour.

Fadi Lafi is set for the fourth Jordanian club of his career- Al-Jazira.

Alaa Attieh has returned to Ittihand Shajeyah after helping Yarmouk secure Premier League survival last season.

POLAND

Omar Jarun is on trial with Widzew Lodz and will remain there in the run up to the Ekstraklasa season. Jarun’s contract with Arka Gdynia was not renewed due to financial troubles at the club.
