| Wanted, but for how much? |
Ashraf Nu’man has enjoyed the last twelve months, to say the least. Not only is he key to Jamal Mahmoud’s plans in the national team he is now set to parlay a strong season on loan to Al-Faisaly into a major pay-day.
When Al-Faisaly signed the Tarji Wadi Al-Nes player on loan they doubted that the dynamic winger could replicate his form on the other side of the river. A strong start to the domestic season had them scrambling to reach a deal but it was too late as offers have since poured in from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and even a certain WBPL side.
So where will Ashraf end up? He has stated a preference for Jordan due to its proximity to his family in Palestine and despite previous shows of loyalty to Al-Faisaly he hasn’t been shy about negotiating with bitter rivals Al-Wehdat.
The step up in play hasn’t fazed the player one bit as evidenced by his 13 goals across all competitions (9 League, 2 Cup, 2 AFC Cup).
In the past week three players have established themselves in the race to sign Nu’man. Wehdat seemed to be on the verge of doing so this past week but the deal collapsed after Wehdat refused to match Ashraf Nu’man six figure wage demands ($90-$100,000 is the figure most often mentioned).
Then Shabab Al-Khaleel was rumored to be in pole position with an astounding offer of $130,000- with that news making rounds on the social networks as well.
Al-Faisaly (of Saudi Arabia) have also been in and out of the picture and a figure of $230,000/year (similar to what Abdelatif Bahdari earned at Hajer) was bandied about.
To make matters even more confusing Tarji Wadi Al-Nes’s Chairman Salim Abu Hamad has since stated that Ashraf Nu’man will be with the giallorossi next season as he is under contract.
