Palestine to drop Peak as apparel provider

Football Palestine has learned that the Palestine national football team will change their kit provider ahead of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup finals.

Palestine had been outfitted by Peak since late 2014 and the agreement between the Chinese apparel company and the Palestinian Olympic Federation came to cover all sports in the country.

The original deal was done after a disagreement over commercial distribution with Emirati provider Romai. The Palestine Football Association wanted the sole right to sell the jersey and cancelled the contract weeks after signing it.

Palestine have played with Peak Jerseys since December 2014 with less than stellar results. The team at the 2015 AFC Asian Cup had to cover a logo on the collar of the jersey with electrical tape. Three years later, the Olympic team did the same during the 2018 U23 AFC Asian Championship in China.

The Chinese provider did not supply the FA with custom nameplates or even screen printed jerseys with kitmen in the FA left responsible to iron on all badges, names, and numbers.

The PFA will replace Peak with German kit provider Jako who currently outfits some big names in football- most notably Bayer Leverkusen 04 and Hannover 96.

Jako also outfits three other Middle Eastern teams- Iraq, Syria, and Oman.
