Mahmoud Eid signs for Vietnam Champions
Veteran Palestine attacker stays in ASEAN region following successful spell in Thailand
A stellar three year period for Mahmoud Eid in Thailand has come to an end but the 32 year old has won his fair share of admirers in Southeast Asia. Interest and offers from several leagues in the region came the 32-year old's way but in the end he chose to sign for Vietnam's reigning champions Nam Dinh.
While with Bangkok United, Eid managed a total of 19 goal involvements in league action in each of the last two seasons. In three years in Thialand, Eid registered 86 league appearances scoring 34 goals and contributing 24 assists. The Sweden born attacker lifted the Thai Cup and the Thai Champions Cup in his time in the capital city.
His form earned him a recall to the national team in March 2024 where he contributed an assist in Palestine's 5-0 demolition of Bangladesh. Since making his debut in November 2014, Eid has amassed 25 caps- scoring once and registering three assists.
Eid and Namh Dinh will play in Asian Champions League 2 this season with the campaign kicking off in September. The Vietnamese League is slated to start on August 15th.
