Palestine's FIFA Arab Cup Squad Finalized
No eleventh hour changes as Palestine's squad that faced Libya is drafted in for the Finals.
It may have gone unnoticed but Ehab Abu Jazar has rebuilt the national team in his first 12 months at the helm. The Khan Younis native’s mandate was always going to be tricky one. On the one hand he inherited a side that had achieved history in advancing to the knockouts of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup and to the Third Round of World Cup qualifiers for the first time ever.
On the other hand, the team had only collected three points from six games and with four qualifiers left something had to change. Abu Jazar found a way to rebuild around the pillars of the team. In spite of being nearly allergic to any player over 30 years old he stuck with the core group of players- Musab Al-Battat, Tamer Seyam, and Rami Hamadi remain automatic starters but has given the baton to several new players.
Overall only five players remain from the team that featured at the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup- which was shorn of talent due to injury and club commitments. Those players are Yaser Hamed, Mohammed Saleh, Tamer Seyam, Odai Kharoub, and Mahmoud Abuwarda.
Even the 26 player squad that traveled to Qatar two years ago features very few remnants in this current 23-man squad. The aforementioned five from the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup make the trip in addition to Rami Hamadi, Musab Al-Battat, Oday Dabbagh, Zaid Qunbar, and Michel Termanini.
Palestine’s Arab Cup squad includes eight players who were called up for the first time in 2025. The rest of the squad is as follows:
