Zamalek complete the singing of Adam Kaied
The 22 year old play maker has signed a long term contract with the White Knights.
After weeks of speculation, it is now official. Adam Kaied has put pen to paper on a three year deal with Cairo giants Zamalek SC. The midfielder was unveiled to the legion of loyal white and red supporters online in a swanky video.
The video opens with Kaied playing the cello in the dark and ends with him stepping into the light saying "From the land of glory [Palestine] to Mit Okba [the neighborhood of Zamalek]. We are the Kings, we are Zamalek."
Kaied burst onto the scene in the Arab World back in March when he debuted for Palestine against Jordan. Five days later he played a pivotal role in the national team's historic 2-1 comeback victory versus Iraq- assisting both goals.
He further added to his lore when he repeated the feat against Oman in June, once again coming off the bench to assist from a corner kick.
The curly haired winger had represented the country of his birth, Sweden, at U16, U18, and U20 levels before filing a nationality switch late last year.
At club level, Kaied first made his professional debut for his hometown side Helsingborgs IF in 2021. He was an immediate success scoring four goals in 26 appearances as the side won promotion to the Allsvenskan. In his sophomore season, Kaied found his playing time limited and a loan to Norweigan side Staebaek was agreed although playing time proved to be equally scarce.
In January 2023, NAC Breda purchased Kaied's services and the midfielder worked his way from the U21 side to the senior side over the next two seasons. In 2024/25, the midfielder made 16 Eredivisie appearances and scored a lovely goal in a 2-1 win over FC Twente.
This is the third signing of a Palestinian player that Zamalek has made in recent years availing of the rule that allows Palestinians to be registered as local players. Yaser Hamed Mayor and Omar Faraj lasted less than a full season before they were moved on.
Zamalek has a long history with Palestine. Palestine's best player of the 1980s and early 1990s- Mustafa Najm- played with side from 1990 to 1993. In April 2000, Zamalek played Palestine's national team in the inaugural match of Gaza's Palestine Stadium.
Faraj is still on the books of the club and will return to the White Knights when his loan to Degerfors IF expires at the end of the month. That said, it remains to be seen whether he is in the plans of new manager Yannick Ferrera.
Zamalek is still trying to sign national team midfielder Hamed Hemdan from fellow Premier League side Petrojet but that deal has since hit a snag.

Pretty sure thatโs not Adam playing the Cello at the start of the video but just a similarly curly haired woman ๐๐ but very excited to see how he performs at the top level and see if he can keep Palestinian dominance in Egypt alive after Wessams move
